Nel 1982 esce la Barbie Magic Curl : la sua caratteristica è di poter trasformare i “magici ricci” in capelli lisci grazie a una lozione contenuta nella scatola. Questa versione caucasica è affiancata dalla versione afroamericana. Entrambe le versioni indossano un abito in stile contadino di un giallo caldo e burroso con un vezzoso tocco dato dal pizzo in fondo alla gonna.

In 1982 the Barbie Magic Curl was released: its characteristic is that it can transform the “magic curls” into straight hair thanks to a lotion contained in the box. This Caucasian version is flanked by the African American version. Both versions wear a peasant style dress of a warm and buttery yellow with a charming touch given by the lace at the bottom of the skirt.

The package can be found in two slightly different versions . The differences are: 1) the word " Magic Curl " white ( left ) and black ( right ); 2) the drawn faces of Barbie are in three ovals bordered of white ( left ) almost overlapping and larger ( on   the right ). La confezione si può trovare in due versioni leggermente diverse. Le differenze sono: 1) la scritta “ Magic Curl ” bianca (a sinistra) e nera (a destra); 2) i volti disegnati di Barbie sono in tre ovali bordati di bianco ( a   sinistra ), quasi sovrapposti e più grandi ( a destra ).

The European version of the Magic Curl comes in the same two graphic variants seen above for the US market. Curiously, the title on the package appears only in the three languages English, German and French , but the captions next to the figures are also in Italian (below). La versione europea della Magic Curl si presenta nelle stesse due varianti grafiche viste sopra per il mercato USA. Curiosamente, il titolo sulla confezione appare solo nelle tre lingue inglese, tedesco e francese , ma le didascalie accanto alle figure sono anche in italiano (sotto).
