In 1968 a new type of hands was introduced. They are called " Mexico " because the first model that uses them, Barbie Talking # 1115 , is also the first to be produced in Mattel's factory in Mexico. Hands are placed more in profile than "Regular". Nel 1968 viene introdotto un nuovo tipo di mani . Vengono definite “ Mexico ” perché il primo modello che le utilizza, la Barbie Talking # 1115 , è anche la prima a essere prodotta nella fabbrica in Messico della Mattel. The right hand is a little raised , the thumb is detached from the other four fingers, which instead are all joined together. La mano destra è un po’ sollevata , il pollice è staccato dalle altre quattro dita, che invece sono tutte unite fra loro.

The left hand is more extended than the right, the fingers are like the other, joined together except the thumb . La mano sinistra è più distesa rispetto alla destra, le dita sono come l’altra, unite fra loro tranne il pollice .

Barbie's first arms are simply defined as " Regular ". They remain the same from the Barbie Ponytail # 1 until the Twist 'N Turn of 1967-68. These are straight arms, without joints, seamlessly joined to the hands, placed symmetrical to each other, slightly arched. Le prime braccia di Barbie sono definite, semplicemente, “ Regular ”. Of the Mexico hands there is a variant with both hands rotated slightly further back than the first type. The Barbie Walk Lively, for example, has this kind of hands. The left hand has the four fingers joined together separated only by the thumb and is rotated so that, looking at it frontally, you can also see the other fingers of the hand.
