Nel 1959 debutta Barbie: il marchio indica l'anno in cui è stato presentato il brevetto, il 1958 . Le braccia e le gambe sono rigide con le "unghie" di mani e piedi dipinte di rosso. In 1959 Barbie debuted: the mark indicates the year in which the patent was presented, 1958 . The arms and legs are rigid with the "nails" of hands and feet painted red. This body is used until 1967. In 1972 it appeared again, as a reply, on the Barbie Montgomery Ward. It must then wait until 1994 , when the Vintage body, with a new brand, is used to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Barbie, and again later for other anniversaries.

Only after 22 years, on the occasion of the 35th anniversary , does a new series of Barbies come out with the Vintage body reproduced in every detail: the brand bears the years 1958 and 1993 and the expression of Barbie's face is perhaps a little less serious compared to the original one. The knob on the neck of the full body ( top ) is smooth and flat ; the other ( below ) is more irregular, has two grooves on the neck and, looking inside, you can see the empty interior of the body. The hole where the arms are inserted: in the full body there is the space to accommodate the arm knob and you see beyond the vinyl that fills the body ; in the hollow body the hole is larger because the arm knob is different and you can see, on the opposite side, the hole of the other arm.
