On the left , the face "Stacey". On the right , the face "Superstar". Some argue that this Barbie with the Superstar face came out in 1979 despite the box reporting 1975 as the year (it's strange, because there is usually only one year of difference). However, the first Barbie officially named by Mattel as "SuperStar" comes out in 1977 , so a year after this, and its name, as usual, also gives the name to the type of face that is then used for many other Barbie models . This Malibu Barbie, therefore, if it is really from 1976 it could be considered an "anticipation" of the new face studied by the designers of Mattel to test the appreciation of the public.
