In 1972 the second and last model of Growin Pretty Hair was released. Change the hairline and the dress: from the short dress in pink satin, now Barbie wears a long dress with bodice and flowered skirt.

The peasant style of the dress with its lively Provencal fantasy was the first choice of the designer Carol Spencer, but for the first issue of 1971 the more “bon ton” version in pink satin was preferred. But for many this dress with blue bodice and patterned skirt is the first that is associated with the Growin 'Pretty Hair model.
